Metamorphosis is a structured, multi-phased changemaking program for students of grade 10-12, designed to move beyond ideas and enable real-world impact. Through a blend of online learning and an immersive experience at IIT Delhi, students identify meaningful problems, design solutions, and work towards implementing them in real contexts.

Guided by mentors, researchers, and changemakers, the program transforms students from just thinkers to doers, helping them build, test, and act on ideas that create lasting and tangible change.

A Sneak Peek into the IIT Delhi Immersion

After building the foundational base, the IIT Delhi immersion will help ideas begin to take real shape. Over 5 days on campus, 200 selected students step into an environment built around innovation, research, and real-world problem-solving.

Students will work through ideas, test them, and build solutions. Students engage with professors, researchers, and industry experts, gaining exposure to how different disciplines come together to solve complex challenges and step in the real world.

Important Information

  • Travel to IIT Delhi must be arranged by participants.
  • Accommodation will be available in campus hostels on a paid basis.
  • Meals and refreshments during the immersion will be provided as part of the program.
  • All course materials, learning resources, and activity kits will be provided by the program.
  • Detailed schedule and logistics will be shared with selected participants prior to the immersion.

Eligibility & Application

Students from across India are eligible to apply for the Metamorphosis Program.

  • Open to students currently in Grades 10-12 (Science Stream for 11th and 12th).
  • A background in Science and Technical subjects is mandatory.
  • Applicants should be comfortable with written and spoken English (medium of instruction).
  • Applicants must have scored at least 75% in their previous examination.
  • Students should have curiosity, initiative, and an interest in solving real-world problems.

Hybrid Format

The program is conducted in a hybrid format, combining Online sessions, an On-Campus immersion at IIT Delhi (for selected participants), and a 6-month implementation phase.

How to Apply

To apply, students are required to fill out an online application form, including a short response on a problem they care about. Selection is based on clarity of thought, intent, and willingness to engage with the program.

How many sessions are there in Phase 1?

Phase 1 consists of 5 online sessions designed to build your foundation in problem-solving, research, and solution design.

What is the timing of these sessions?

All sessions will be conducted in the evening between 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM, so they do not clash with school hours.

What if I miss a live session?

Recordings of all sessions will be shared. However, watching the sessions is mandatory, as they are essential for your learning and participation in the program.

Will there be any assignments?

Yes. After each session, you will be required to complete a short assignment. These assignments are important and will be used to evaluate your progress and shortlist participants for Phase 2 (IIT Delhi immersion).

How much time do I need to commit daily?

You should plan for a daily commitment of around 2–3 hours during Phase 1, including sessions and assignments.

Who will be selected for Phase 2 at IIT Delhi?

Based on your participation, assignments, and overall engagement in Phase 1, around 200 students will be selected for the IIT Delhi immersion.

Do I need to have a fully developed idea to apply?

No. You only need a problem you care about. The program will help you refine your idea and build a solution.

Is prior experience required?

No prior experience is required. The program is designed to support students from the basics.

Will accommodation be provided at IIT Delhi?

Accommodation will be available on campus in hostels on a paid basis for selected participants. It is not mandatory to stay on campus; it is optional.

Do I need to travel to IIT Delhi myself?

Yes, participants will need to arrange their own travel to and from IIT Delhi for the immersion phase.

Is there any application fee?

No, there is no application or program fee.

What happens after the IIT Delhi immersion?

Participants will work on their solutions for 6 months, implementing and testing them in real-world settings with continued guidance.

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes, participants will receive a certificate jointly issued by Tale of Humankind Foundation and Office of Academic Outreach & New Initiatives (IIT Delhi).
